Effective advocacy requires knowledgeable leaders who believe in and work for common goals. It depends on strong leaders who can energize their organization, utilize existing networks and resources and mobilize action.

Southern Illinois Leaders in Action is a regional network of professionals, parents, and other community members whose goal is to who work together to improve outcomes for children and their families in the southern fifteen counties Illinois through advocacy and public policy efforts.

Members of the network are committed to staying informed on key issues and are actively engaged in the legislative and policy making processes. They work together to keep elected officials informed and knowledgeable regarding the needs of children and families in southern Illinois. In addition, network members mobilize others to support policies, budgets and rules that are in the best interest of children and families living in our region.
