Members of the Southern Illinois Coalition for Children and Families are committed to helping ALL children be ready to enter school.

In January 2023, the Coalition  relaunched its School Readiness Action Team to create and implement and region wide workplan that includes strategies to promote school readiness across the region. 

For the purpose of their work, the Action Team has defined School Readiness as follows: 

School Readiness means that children possess the skills, knowledge, and social-emotional development necessary for school and later learning and life.
