Launched in October 2016 as a partnership between the United Way of Southern Illinois and the Southern Illinois Coalition for Children and Families, Success By 6 is the nation’s largest network of early childhood initiatives, focused on increasing school readiness through community change. Success By 6 initiatives focus on the challenges facing local families with children birth through age 6 and facilitate creative solutions in collaboration with the community and corporate partners.
By partnering with the United Way the Coalition not only becomes part of this network, but has access to a variety of tools and resources to promote early literacy and school readiness in southern Illinois. Success by 6 in southern Illinois will focus on leveraging and enhancing current resources, increasing community involvement in early education through volunteerism and support and ongoing parent education. Activities will include:
