Council for a Quality Early Childhood Workforce
A well-trained and available workforce is critical to children receiving high-quality care and education. Over the years, the number of individuals choosing early childhood has declined significantly . . This has been due primarily to low wages, no benefits, and high stress. At the same time, many long-term, dedicated teachers are retiring or leaving the field for other more lucrative professions, The result is a workforce shortage like we have never seen before. Coalition members have identified the Early Childhood Education and Care Workforce as one of four priority areas in which they want to mobilize the community to create innovative solutions to help address the issue. The Council for a Quality Workforce is the Action Team that is working together implementing strategies designed to alleviate the crisis. Stay tuned for more information!
